I am clueless about current pop culture most of the time - unless it has tits & a drug problem - and I like it that way!

I will generally follow most who reblog me - especially those of you that post mostly original content. You have your own life/mind/imagination, right?

Tumblrs based mainly on reblogs are boring AND pointless, (i.e; tons of kitty pictures, anorexic/emo/caucasian fashion models, harryfuckingpotter, giant earlobes, fixie bikes, or crybaby emo whiny "dear diary" bullshit)...

  • Black Flag at San Pedro High circa 1983

I wasn’t doing shit in 1983. I was in seventh-grade, wearing corduroys, discovering Nikes and riding 10-speeds.

I was a sophomore about to get kicked out of catholick high school for having a picture of The Plasmatics in my locker. And for possession of a cigarette lighter (allegedly). I think I turned out alright…

Honor Role was a great punk band (moody down-tempo punk not fastcore) from Richmond, I highly recommend the album from Merge Records with their full discography.

It’s interesting you say that though, because there are actually two EPs that predate the Merge Records material—a demo called Your Skull Is My Bowl (split with Graven Image), and a 7 inch called It Bled Like A Stuck Pig—which totally WERE fastcore. Bob Schick hadn’t yet joined the band when those early EPs were recorded, and Pen Rollings both sang and played guitar on both of them. There’s a song from the Your Skull Is My Bowl demo on the Strange Daze soundtrack that I posted a while back. Check that out if you haven’t already.

I had no idea, thank you for the info! I love the Strange Daze book, I’m downloading the soundtrack right now (dear readers, if you’re not in Richmond but like black & white live photos of 80’s hardcore bands you can grab the book as a PDF here).
